Children's and Apprentice Program

Program Overview

 

Dates & Times

• Runs Weekly: July through August

• Days: Monday to Friday

• Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Age Groups

• Children’s Program: Ages 5–12

• Apprentice Program: Ages 13–16

 

Costumes

Costumes are provided by our team and fitted on Mondays. They’re worn Tuesday through Thursday, then returned on Friday. Lightweight fabrics and layering options help keep kids comfortable in summer weather.

Participants wear historical costumes (Tues–Thurs) and engage in guided, staff-led activities with lots of fun and learning along the way.

Pricing & Registration

• Cost: $200 per week

• Includes: Daily programming, costume use, materials & take-home crafts.

• Registration: Limited spaces available each week. Early registration recommended.

 

Free Fortress Entry – Canada Strong Pass

As part of the Canada Strong Pass, the Government of Canada is offering free admission to all Parks Canada locations — including the Fortress of Louisbourg — from June 19 to September 7, 2026, inclusive.

All children registered in the Children’s or Apprentice Program and their families can enjoy the site at no cost during this period — perfect for exploring while your child learns and plays!

 

2026 Program Dates & Availability

Programs run weekly from June 29th to August 21st, 2026. Each week offers:

• 12 spots in the Children’s Program (ages 5–12)

• 5 spots in the Apprentice Program (ages 13–16)

Available Weeks

• Week 1: June 29th – July 3rd

• Week 2: July 6th – July 10th

• Week 3: July 13th – July 17th

• Week 4: July 20th – July 24th

• Week 5: July 27th – July 31st

• Week 6: August 3rd – August 7th

• Week 7: August 10th – August 14th

• Week 8: August 17th – August 21st

Spaces are limited and fill up quickly—early registration is strongly encouraged!
