2020 Fortress Louisbourg Association Scholarship
The Fortress Louisbourg Association Scholarship is offered each year by the FLA to recognize the invaluable service of dedicated volunteers at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. To this end, the FLA scholarship is open to all current FLA members graduating from high school in June 2020, or children of current FLA members.
To be considered eligible for the scholarship, all applicants (or children thereof) must:

Be a graduating high school student who has been accepted into an accredited post-secondary institution (university or community college) as a full-time student for the 2020-2021 academic year. The student’s course of studies must be related to culture, heritage, community development, or tourism;

Have a minimum overall average of 70% for the grade 12 academic year;

Be a current member of the FLA with a demonstrated commitment to volunteer service at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site; and
-
Include a 1000-word essay describing future career plans, and how volunteering at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site has played a role in your personal and professional development.
Please note:

Children of FLA board members are not eligible for this scholarship.

The scholarship will be awarded to the successful applicant as selected by the Scholarship Committee of the Board of Directors of the Fortress Louisbourg Association.
