Working under the supervision of the Food &amp; Beverage Services Manager, the Attendant ensures efficient service, maintains cleanliness and safety standards, and contributes to the overall atmosphere of the historic site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This role combines hospitality service with heritage interpretation, offering visitors an immersive and memorable experience at one of Canada\u2019s most significant historic sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Food &amp; Beverage Service<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a timely and professional manner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serve food items according to established service standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations based on preferences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accurately process transactions using a cash register and Square POS system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check and replace kegs and assist with bar setup and breakdown as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Customer Experience &amp; Interpretation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide friendly, engaging service to visitors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Answer basic questions about the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, including general history and daily programming.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interpret aspects of the historic tavern experience in an engaging and appropriate manner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cross-promote other Fortress Louisbourg Association offerings, including restaurants, King\u2019s Bakery, gift shops and events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Operations &amp; Inventory Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar and service area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restock inventory and supplies as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with monitoring inventory levels and notifying supervisors when reordering is required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow proper food handling and beverage service procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Health, Safety &amp; Compliance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure compliance with all food and beverage regulations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow workplace health and safety guidelines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>General Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with setup, closing procedures, and cleaning tasks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsible Beverage Service Training is mandatory and is paid for by the employer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Experience working in a tavern, bar, restaurant, or hospitality setting preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving beverages is an asset.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong customer service and communication skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>WHMIS and Occupational Health &amp; Safety certification (or willingness to obtain).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reliable transportation to the Fortress of Louisbourg.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic French language skills are an asset, but not required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Personal Attributes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Outgoing and welcoming personality<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Professional and dependable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong attention to cleanliness and organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team-oriented and adaptable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interest in heritage, tourism, or historic sites<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Start Date:\u00a0June 17, 2026End Date: September 12, 2026Wage:\u00a0$17.00\/HourHours:\u00a0Seasonal Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Job Summary The Fortress Louisbourg Association (FLA) is seeking a professional and customer-focused Tavern Attendant to join the team at our historic tavern location.
