• Date: Friday, September 25th & Saturday, September 26th, 2026

• Location: Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, Louisbourg, NS

 

Event Overview

Friday, September 25th – Evening Experience (All Ages)

Things that go bump in the night…

Louisbourg is steeped in dark history, with countless forgotten remains lying beneath the soil. Some say the Fortress is haunted, and this is your chance to search for proof. Guided by candlelight, hear chilling stories from the past before setting out to investigate the unseen.

Schedule:

• Arrival: 5:00 – 6:00pm (gates open at 5:00pm for ticket holders)

• Dark History Tour: 6:00 – 6:45pm – A 45-minute guided walk exploring the murders, mayhem, and madness of the Fortress.

• Investigations: 6:45pm – Groups divided and move to various haunted locations.

• Ghost Hunting: 7:00 – 11:00pm – Rotate through buildings using professional paranormal investigation equipment with Haunts from the Cape.

Cost:

• $30 youth

• $40 adult

 

Saturday, September 26th – Evening + Overnight Experience (19+ Only)

The ultimate haunted experience. Stay overnight in the King’s Bastion with spirits of the past… if you dare.

Schedule:

• Arrival & Tent Setup: 5:00 – 7:00pm – Check in, have your tent assigned, and settle in while enjoying the Storehouse Tavern.

• Tavern Service: Open until 10:00pm (snacks, drinks, and spooky atmosphere).

• Paranormal Investigations: 7:00pm – 12:00am – Guided ghost hunting across the Fortress.

• Extended Investigations: 12:00am – late – Gather at the Bastion campfire, continue investigations, and share eerie encounters.

• Overnight Stay: Sleep (if you can!) in your pre-set tent.

• Departure: 8:30am, Sunday, September 27th.

Cost:

• $75 per guest

• Includes pre-set tent (for groups of 4 or 6). Please bring your own camping gear (sleeping bags, mats, chairs).

 

Important Notes

• Age restriction: Friday is all ages, Saturday is 19+ only.

• Camping: BYOCG (Bring Your Own Camping Gear). Tents provided, but not bedding or chairs.

• Food & Drink: Tavern (both nights) and Café (Saturday evening) available.
