Do you remember those childhood nights—costumed, sugar-crazed, and fearlessly chasing the thrill of the unknown?

This October, we invite you to relive that magic—elevated, eerie, and all grown up.

The Fortress of Louisbourg Association proudly presents the 5th Annual Sinister Soirée—and this year, we’re conjuring up our biggest and most bone-chilling bash yet!

With more venues, more entertainment, more tickets, and more wicked surprises still to be revealed, this is one haunted affair you won’t want to miss.

And for the first time ever, this year’s soirée welcomes 500 guests for an evening of thrills you won’t find anywhere else..

Trust us—you’ll want to claim yours before they vanish into the fog.

👻 Arrival & Departure

Arrival: 5:00–9:00 PM
Guests may park in the Parade Square or designated parking areas before beginning their eerie journey through the sinister grounds.
⚠️ Please note: Arrival ends promptly at 9:00 PM.

Departure: 11:00 PM
Guests and ghouls must safely leave the grounds until next year’s haunting return.

🕷️ Important Info

• 🎭 Wear your BEST costume for a chance to win the Sinister Soirée Costume Contest!

• 💵 Bring cash if you’re visiting Mediums or Tarot Readers.

• 🪪 Don’t forget your ID – this is a 19+ event. Our bartenders are legally required to ID anyone who appears under 30.

• 🚫 No drinking & driving. Arrange a ride, designate a sober driver, or summon a (friendly) ghost chauffeur.

• 🗑️ Respect the grounds: no littering, and please stay off the Fortress walls.

• 👻 Watch out for wandering ghosts—they don’t all play nice.

🔥 Fire Busking at the Frederic Gate | 7:00–9:00 PM

Join us for a mesmerizing fire performance by Jonathan Kanary as flames dance against the historic Frederic Gate.

🍴 The Corpse Café | 5:00–11:00 PM

Grab a bite to eat or sip something spine-chilling. Non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, and warm drinks available for purchase.

💀 The King’s Bastion – Crypt Walk | 5:30–10:45 PM

Dare to descend into the shadows! New this year, the Haunted Crypt Walk at the Bastion invites the brave to wander through its eerie corridors, where centuries-old stone walls seem to whisper their secrets. Step carefully! You never know what might be lurking in the dark. This is a self-guided experience through one of the fortress’s most haunting corners… a place where history refuses to rest in peace.

DJ Chapel & DJ Scott Helle will keep the energy alive with hauntingly good mixes (and a touch of karaoke!) from 5:30–10:45 PM across multiple venues.

Tickets must be purchased in advance through the Fortress Louisbourg Association website. Tickets will not be sold at the gate. The gates of the fortress will open only for those already on the guest list…
